Programming

I have long loved programming. I don't get to do it much now, though, and some of my staff might agree that that's actually a good thing. I love programming, but I never received any formal training in it. I think I'm good, but I have limited outside feedback to reinforce that idea…

That hasn't stopped me from being interested and learning whatever language crosses my path. I have dabbled in: BASIC, QuickBasic, PowerBasic, Visual Basic, ANSI C, C#, Pascal, Delphi, ASP, PHP, Python, Ruby, Web design ((HTML/XHTML, CSS, Javascript), XML (and XSLT), a little Java, Shell scripting, and even some Smalltalk.

I never really got into C++, even though it's pretty ubiquitous, tending to enjoy the quick fix of interpreted scripting languages instead.

I know a little about a lot of languages, enough to brush up on the syntax pretty quickly and remember how the libraries are structured, but I spend a lot of time reading API documentation whenever I program. I can do the coding, but I just don't have enough time under my belt to have the libraries memorized. Ah, well. That's what this Wiki is for – cheatsheets!
